Position: Web Designer / Developer
Position Type: Full Time

Description

As part of the Web Team, this person will be responsible for designing and implementing web sites and applications using HTML and CSS. This person must possess strong design skills for creating web interfaces and graphics. This person must also possess strong coding skills for implementing web interfaces in a manner that is compliant with internal and W3C guidelines for coding and accessibility.

In this position, the candidate should expect to:

  • Conceptualize and design web graphics and interfaces.
  • Integrate designs and applications into web-based interfaces. This may include a content management solution and/or enterprise applications.
  • Complete specific implementation/design tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Provide feedback to application design team to improve software quality.
  • Develop templates and standards to be utilized across projects.
  • Participate in corporate standards and development process.
  • Work as an on-going development resource on multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Conduct work at client sites when necessary.
  • Provide assistance, training and mentoring to lower level Web Developers.

Requirements

All candidates should meet the following requirements:

  • Knowledge of W3C WAI and Section 508 Accessibility guidelines
  • Knowledge of HTML, XHTML, CSS, JavaScript, and ability to code to W3C standards.
  • A working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Macromedia Flash.
  • Knowledge of XSLT and basic knowledge of ASP.NET.
  • Ability to structure time flexibly across many projects.
  • Ability to learn from constructive criticism.
  • Ability to function independently and under pressure (required).
  • Good communication skills and a strong work ethic (required).
  • Desire to learn as part of a professional development team (required).
