Algonquin Studios Wins First Unreal Tournament Shoot-out
Algonquin Studios Wins First Unreal Tournament Shoot-out
The first ever WNY corporate video game tournament featured an impressive line-up of ten teams dedicated to fragging their way to first place. Competition was heated, the beer was cold, and everyone is looking forward to the next event to be held in October 2002. Algonquin Studios walked away from the first Unreal Tournament Shoot-out as the champs. Taking second place honors was a stellar group from Conbrio Deisgn, and the third place team was from the ABC Companies. Conbrio came back from a loss to defeat ABC and challenge Algonquin Studios for the championship.
The worst team for the night, losing all matches, was the inexperienced yet enthusastic group from @Silvia.
The award for most frags (kills) was handed out to Decapitator (aka Nick Twenty Five) from the CTG team, and the award for most deaths was given to Jeff Falker of @Silvia. It should come as no surprise that Nick scored most of his frags during a match against Jeff's team.
Co-sponsored by Algonquin Studios, The Advanced Training Center, and Infotech Niagara, proceeds from the tournament go toward the InfoTech Niagara Scholarship Program.
Along with the tournament, food and drink was served as onlookers got to track the stats of the players and teams as they progressed through the tournament.
