Enterprise Charter School Launches New Web Site on QuantumCMS

The Enterprise Charter School, the first charter school to be approved by the Buffalo Public School Board, has launched its new school web site. The web site was developed by Algonquin Studios and deployed on their content management system, QuantumCMS, to allow the Enterprise Charter School to manage and update the content regularly for prospective students and teachers.

Enterprise Charter School will offer students instruction based on New York State Learning Standards taught in multiage classrooms, conflict resolution training, two culminating projects per school year. In addition, art, music, physical education, computers, technology and foreign language will be taught at all grade levels, along with multiple opportunities for community-based field trips to augment classroom instruction, before and after school programs, hands-on experiences, as well as direct instruction and differentiated instruction to meet their individual needs.

As part of the project-based learning program, the Enterprise Charter School will use QuantumCMS to teach students the fundamentals of html, web page authoring and development. "In addition to helping us market our school, the web site and QuantumCMS will provide our students with hands-on training in the area of web development, and it gives us another means of communication with parents," notes Assistant Director Jill Norton.

Scheduled to open on August 11 this year, the Enterprise Charter School is in negotiations to lease space in the former Taylor's Department store building on Main Street in downtown Buffalo. The school is presently interviewing teachers and accepting applications for prospective students. Preference will be given to those who qualify for the free or reduced-price school lunch program.
